arpeggiando con grandezza
Добавлен 28 май 2010
Nyíregyházi (?) plays Liszt's famous "arpeggiando con grandezza" from "Réminiscences de Norma". Or... just a minute... maybe it's someone else?!?
It's confusing doubt about his recordings....but just a minute....this is crashing and indeed great playing, no matter whose playing this is!!!

Moritz Rosenthal plays My Joys (Chopin-Liszt) 1942
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.8 лет назад
Chopin-Liszt Chant Polonais Mes Joies / My Joys / Meine Freuden, recorded on 3/18/1942 Elegant, beautiful, masterful - what else would you expect from Rosenthal? This recording of the famous My Joys comes from 1942, when his early fire and power had mellowed into a spirit of deep poetry. His playing is probably the most "colorful" of the Liszt students who recorded, with a command of keyboard t...

Ervin Nyíregyházi (1903-1987), recorded in 1972 Certainly not a natural Chopinist... oh well... we discussed that before... played like a Lisztian rhapsody*... His tempi are slow even by today's standards, and his playing is rhythmically free even when compared to 19th century pianists such as Pachmann and Paderewski. With Nyíregyházi's approach, the printed text is merely a point of departure....

Sonetto 123 del Petrarca from "Années de Pèlerinage" by Franz Liszt. "Practice isn't important for me, because my performance is driven by my feeling and emotion ... I don't own a piano now. I don't need it, because I can always hear it. Even though there are no keys around me, I can feel them through my fingers and hand." The sumptuous sonority and tender interpretation of Ervin Nyíregyházi (1903, Budapest - 1987, Los Angeles) at his recital in Takasaki (Japan), 31/5/1980. The subject of The Kingdom of the Shades ("Le Royaume des Ombres") is not really death, although everybody in it except the hero is dead. It's Elysian bliss, and its setting is eternity. The long slow repeated-arabesque sequence creates the impression of a grand crescendo that seems to annihilate all time. No reason it could not go on forever... The incomparable Viktor Fedotov is the conductor....

Description There is someone talking at times, so you know Chopin Étude Op. 25 No. 11 "Winter Storm" Another magnificant piece by Chopin! This "etude" is supposed to be really hard to play, but when played by Arthur Rubinstein (1970s), it sounds "how it should sound, more or less"!

so you only care about Florez?
I read somewhere that until his wife knocked some sense into him ("practice, Arthur"), Rubinstein acknowledged that he would hit enough wrong notes in a recital to make up the next recital!
Proof that despite all that bombastic virtuosity in the right hand, the resolute and firm melody of the left hand is what actually carries this piece. The most important thing was there
Nyiregyhazi's great recording of Liszt's Hungarian Rpapsody No. 3 was released by Columbia Records on a 2 LP set in the late 1970s in glorious stereo sound. The audio here sounds like it was processed with a meatgrinder. Horrible!! Here is the one you want to listen to: ruclips.net/video/_9w1Ol9QuZI/видео.html
To revert back to demonstrate how he played it poorly is more impressive than him playing it at his best. That's why he's a pianist and I play the piano.
She did not a happy life and passed away at the age of 47.
This is much better than the typical late EN train wreck but I don't find the performance noteworthy. Among the best is an early recording by Arrau, made before he (deliberately) slowed down
Despite the antique sound Muzio‘s special magic comes across memorably. A soprano for the ages.
Marvelous performance. Nyiregyhazi really understood and felt this piece so deeply.
Beautiful 🎹
Yes, it is far too slow and ponderous. Yet sometimes pianistsplay it too fast, but this is painfully thumpy at times and slow. It is the weirdest interpretation I've ever heard 😮
Joie de Vivre
Okay this is going to sound weird: I know he's a man, but he somehow has that "strict lady teacher" face, of that one teacher we were all afraid of in school.
Pachmann, Friedman and Rosenthal for me.

A fascinating historic recording.
Thanks for uploading.

The only one who sings both verismo and belcanto so amazingly. How!??
THE ONE AND ONLY!!! I love her voice and style soooooo much.

I love the production with Natalie Dessay and Juan Diego Flórez together!!! I love the chemistry between these 2 singers. Anyway, Juan Diego sings and act very well. Whatever role he plays is always so convincing. I love the singing voice of Juan Diego Flórez. No comparison!!! Every singer is unique and talented!!!
Merci infiniment
When you are famed and powerful, you can bully and abuse anyone.... Did I get his message right? 😅
For my taste too much „rubato“, the music is losing its form until it is no longer recognizable… Why? It is hard for me to listen…
Claudia Muzio's voice touches the soul. A very special artiste in the history of operatic singing.
What a genius!
Probably Liszt played this way
The ending is the aural definition of sublime
The best indication of success is that people pay to see you more to experience you, not to see some special performance only you can do, and as long as you don't fuck up spectacularly, the (bourgeoise) peanut gallery will eat that shit up.
This is history, im so happy to just discover this, THANK YOU!
EN didn't have that velocity and articulation, although perhaps in his youth he did. But this seems like a live performance by someone else.
It’s M A Hamelin
The dark side of Chopin 😮
He’s overthinking voicing. No. It should not be that quiet on the right hand. What stupidity is going in this guy’s brain.
Good pianist but very overrated
fascinating!!!
Juan Nasal Florez doesn’t even sound like a man. Horrible.
Però è belloccio, no?
